It’s almost February and we are all thinking Spring in North Reading MA!!! So aren’t the Mosquitoes and Ticks, where it has been rainier then usual this is allowing for a huge growth rate on Mosquitoes this Spring thru Summer. Mosquito eggs will survive up to several years without any moisture. Once the eggs are introduced to moisture they can hatch within 4 to 10 days. Ticks on the other hand just love soil temperatures to stay north of 45 degrees. Early control is most recommended with pesticide treatments targeting ticks as early as late March. Mosquito control should start when your daily temperatures get 50 degrees. Water should be treated even sooner to kill their eggs before their adults. It’s not to early to start thinking about your Spring and Summer days and nights mosquito and tick free!!!
