Chikungunya Virus Is here in the USA, four people have been diagnosed within the state of Florida. It was only in October that it was first discovered in the Caribbean. Currently there are over 5,400 documented cases of the Chikungunya virus in the Caribbean Islands within the last 3 months. Now that it has a start in the USA, the CDC and health officials have a close watch on it. All but the bone pain subsides in two to three weeks. Officials have said the bone pain can last from months to years after you have been infected. We do not know much about this virus at this time.
